What else can go wrong?

Ok I'm really back now. No more writer's block. I'm ready to blog. You know why? Because I'm irritated. Why? Because Saturday, a kitchen sink full of water ended up in a puddle at the bottom of my cabinet and across my kitchen floor. Earlier in the week, Derrick did some repair work on the disposal and warned me that he had to put some sealant around one of the doodads before I could use it. Well I thought he had already gotten around to sealing it a day or so later, so as I was soaking dishes, I found out the hard way that he hadn't. I ended up having to take all of the cleaning products and everything else from under the cabinet and dry them and the cabinet out (bath towels really are VERY absorbant, by the way). Anyway, I thought that was the end of my water problems but...Um...NO!

The very next day, Derrick overloads the washing machine and a half load of soapy water ends up spilling out onto my living room, foyer, and hallway floors. I didn't even know a washing machine could overflow like that, but, guess what? It can.

By the way, have you ever walked across wet carpet? Squish, squish, squish. Ick!

Anyway, after trying to sop the water up with more bath towels (which were not so absorbant this time), we headed over to my parents' house to borrow their Wet Vac (the life saver). It did the trick, but as of today (two days later), the carpet is still a little damp.

I'm now crossing my fingers hoping the furnace isn't next. This morning I heard a click and then nothing when the furnace was supposed to come on. If I come home today to a frigid house, I'm really going to lose it. Sigh...

Oh no! I hope you didn't arrive home to wet, squishy, cold carpets.
